I am currently working on an application to become a tenant of theirs. I can say out of all the places I have been looking at or trying to look at , home roots made it very convenient for me to tour their place. Which we absolutely loved.I did not feel like I was going to be scammed like I have with others. I hope all goes well for our next step .

we tried to rent a home in rogers, arkansas within these past 2 weeks. we filled out an application before the 3-day labor day weekend and it’s been a crazy ride. they asked for paystubs after application was sent in which was strange because that wasn’t a question on the application but makes sense for renting. we were emailed by nick, called by doug, and have been texting (???someone????) all on different phone numbers/emails and the phone number on their website never responded to my original message. they told us around 12ish today we were approved and tried to make us pay over $1000 in deposit fees and move and pay rent by THIS SUNDAY (so less than 48 hours??). i told WHOEVER around 2 that it was my last day at a job (which they HAVE been aware of this ENTIRE TIME) and calmly said i cannot discuss this with my room mate until after work today. after speaking to my roomie on the phone AND my text that came around 2, they took the listing off within ten minutes.
i get it, business is business whatever. if someone else is comfortable w that agreement… who am i to judge!
but i feel like red flags with the google reviews, and the fact we were contacted and tried to be forced into a lease without meeting ANYBODY by the end of the night is actually insane…. especially knowing i was in a vulnerable/stressful time….just BE SAFE AND CAREFUL. kinda scared they have our personal information LOL!

I have had nothing but problems with this place since I've had to deal with them. I was going to give a detailed account here, but after reading some of the other reviews I have decided to remain anonymous due to the outrageous responses that I have seen when others have given specifics. I can only assume that the people here are just trying to give an honest account of their experience, only to be called liars and bitter humans, one being pressured to sign a disparage agreement (even asked to completely lie by the owner) so that they will be completely discredited should they decided to pursue legal action. If that doesn't scream red flag, then I don't know what does. So, to avoid the sophomoric responses I will just say that since they took over my lease, I have had to pay out more money (due to the fees they introduced) and getting them to respond to any form of communication has been impossible. So, I've given up on getting anything fixed by them. I don't exactly know what these people believe in, but I can say without a doubt that they are only here to gain as much money out of us as humanly possible. I also noticed that a large percentage of their "5-star reviews" are either bots or more than likely other employees or friends who have been coached on what to post here. Or they are reviews from several years ago. It's pretty obvious that they are portraying to be this great company, when in fact it is quite the opposite. Seems the cracks are beginning to show here. Just look for yourself. I will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as I can.

I've been incredibly impressed with the level of professionalism and transparency provided by Home Roots Property Management under the leadership of Nick. One of the standout aspects of Nick's approach to property management is his commitment to financial transparency. Unlike many in the industry, Nick goes above and beyond by using a third-party service for daily reconciliation of his books. This ensures that all transactions are accurately recorded and regularly audited, leaving no room for discrepancies or errors.
In an industry where financial transparency can sometimes be lacking, Nick’s proactive use of third-party audits is a breath of fresh air. This level of accountability is rare and truly sets Home Roots apart from other property management companies.
If you're looking for a property management company that prioritizes honesty, transparency, and financial accuracy, I highly recommend Home Roots and Nick.

They don’t care about the tenants and don’t care about the landlords side, they look for their own benefit and play around with tenant and landlord have several samples of that including bad accounting, (Always in their favor) unilateral changes to landlord in his favor ) Among all the extra expenses due to bad management and poor relationships with tenants., I had to watch by back my own with this company
Hard to recommend this service for landlord and also for tenants

My family and I were renting 14256 Hatcher Hollow Rd through Home Roots Property Management. Within 2 days of moving in, we immediately had 3 issues. Ants started coming out of the walls and the kitchen sink was leaking from the drain. Both of those issues were handled promptly after I entered the requests into the repair app. The 3rd issue however, was a water leak in the master bathroom that was causing the floor to be mushy when you walk on it and water to squeeze up between the floor tiles. I entered the issue into the app as well but it was never repaired or handled properly while living in the house. Through a 1 1/2 month period Home Roots had scheduled a plumber to come in and determine the leak was coming from the old shower pan being rusted through. After that they had 4 general contractors come to the house to give estimates and explain on how the situation needed to be repaired properly. Essentially, all the contractors said that this was not a new issue and it had leaked before. This would result in the bathroom needing to be completely gutted, mold remediation to occur and then remodeled. Within that time, Home Roots had declined the proposals and requested that we stop using the master bathroom until it gets repaired. The issue started to extend into the master bedroom floor which was carpeted. I informed Nick who suggested we move everything out of the master bedroom and into the living room while repairs are being completed. Our lease was agreed to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and now some of that space was being taken from us without any definitive repairs being scheduled. I asked about a reduction in rent via text until the issues were resolved but the message was ignored and never replied to. After close to 60 days had past, I emailed Nick at Home Roots with a notice to terminate lease under Arkansas Act 1052 and requested that our security deposit be refunded as we were moving out immediately. I believed with the condition of the floor and the existing mold from the water damages, that the house was no longer safe for my family to be in. Nick showed up with another contractor the following Tuesday to discuss repairs again and eventually pulled me aside to discuss the notice to terminate lease. He told me that they were not going to agree to let us out of the lease and would continue pursuing us for the amount of rent owed in the lease. He said that my complaint wasn't covered under Act 1052 but can do whatever I felt was necessary including getting an attorney. 5 days later, Nick reached out to me via phone to let me know they had decided to let us out of the lease but under certain conditions. I had previously posted a 1 star review which he wanted me to change to a 5 star review. Instead, I just deleted it. He said that he would send over the lease termination once he verified the review had been changed. He also requested that we sign a non-disparagement agreement that would ultimately quiet us in the matter and prevent us from being able to protect ourselves in the situation. The agreement even included a clause that we couldn't admit we had business with Nick or Home Roots, even though there was an existing contract between us. I told him to send everything over for me to review. When we received the lease termination agreement in an E-sign session, Nick had attached the non-disparagement agreement to it as well trying to force us into signing and agreeing to all or nothing. We refused to sign the non-disparagement agreement. We, instead downloaded the documents, signed the lease termination and sent it back to him via email without the non-disparagement agreement included. During all of this, I also entered a request to have the oven repaired because the heating element had stopped working. That issue was never resolved before we moved out either. I hope this review sends awareness to anyone who may be involved with renting a property from Home Roots and/or Nick Slagle (PB00077874). The company is unethical, lacks integrity and still has not refunded our security deposit. See proof in photos

HORRIBLE PLACE TO RENT!(Betty Jo property) Lived there for 4 years. Initially it was owned by a separate individual who was actually pretty decent. Having to pay my rent a few days after the 1st off the month was never an issue and I ALWAYS paid on that date in full, no problems. As soon as this Homeroots company took over they immediately started to charge me 45$ a day every day after the 1st, with no notice whatsoever. So for example if you pay your rent on the 3rd you're incurring 135$ late fee. They would not work with me at all on this. They were EXTREMELY RUDE, every time I would have to contact them for any reason, they were very rude and unpersonable. I won't go all in to detail, but I'm telling you these people are greedy and they DO NOT care about their tenants. Not to mention the property itself was in a swamp. There is no backyard only mud. It floods every time it rains, and it does not go away. And there is a tree that is going to fall any day and they basically said it's not our problem. I would never recommend anybody rent from these people. They took ALL of my deposits, and are making claims for additional monies they say I owe them (for example) an 850$ cleaning fee!? I personally cleaned the apartment after vacating, not saying it was super professional, but I gave it a good basic cleaning before leaving it was not in bad condition. There was also a neighbor who moved out before I did, 2 doors down, they never did any work on that place or anything, but they claimed it was newly renovated on their website. Not to mention they raised the rent price over 200$ since I've left, which was only a few months.
It's beyond incomprehensible to think that these people are in business successfully with the way they treat people. There is much more that I didn't include, too much to add italll here. But if you're thinking about renting from them, just don't...There are much better places around here that treat you way better I promise.
