The owner of Trademark Properties is going nationwide. He was the original guy on the Flip this House series on HGTV. He now has shows on TLC, The Real Estate Pros. The information they have provided sounds like they will be offering partnerships or franchise opportunities, very similar to the HomeVestors program. Anyone have any other information on this? |

I have sent numerous e-mails about this. I wanted to sit down with Richard and discuss several great opportunities, but I am not sure they have all their plans put together just yet. |

I received an email from them and they are rolling out their plan on 27 July in a conference in Charlston. Richard also has a book that will be released on that day. I am sure it will be interesting to see what they are planning. |

I have watched his show several times and its funny how they never account for holding cost and the team salaries at the end of the show. The last one I saw he made 70K on the flip, but that didn't account for CC, holding cost and the salary for the 4 people who worked on the project and there were several really stupid mistakes made by his people. I can't see how the dude makes any money other then with his show. |

Exactly It's a TV show. If someone said they made $70k in a week I would watch it. If someone said they made $5k in a week I don't think I would watch it. A lot of the events seemed staged but Hey thats entertainment. I am sure he made his fair share of money. |

I will be in at the roll out event on the 27th of July...flying in from Colorado. In case you didn't know, Trademark Properties is the most successful real estate firm in South Carolina now and Richard is worth millions. So, yes, they do know what they are doing. The show dumbs down the profit for people who watch it for entertainment. Do you really think that the American public understand holdings costs, private money interest payments (which they use to purchase properties), real estate commissions, etc. Most don't. It is not a financial show, it is for entertainment value. They are showing GROSS profit...not NET. All of us here understand there is more involved, but the American viewing public doesn't care or want to know. They show has great ratings and that is what is supposed to do. Richard is a smart business man...expanding his company in all directions. I am very excited about hearing his partnership/franchise programs. |

Wow JCD, I wasn't trying to knock your idol off the pedestal you've placed him on. Unfortunately or fortunately for us, there are a lot of bone heads that watch shows like his and think that he really is making 70K profit on that flip. Then they show up here and can't figure out why they are stuck holding a property and 10K in the hole. Guess next time I won't point out such the obvious. Have fun at your seminar |

TC- I didn't mean to come off as a jerk. :)I was just contributing a few facts about the company for all to read. :) You are right, shows like that don't show the whole picture, and people who do no research into how to properly invest in real estate wind up in a mess. But also for novices who might be reading this post, Trademark does volume...which is how they make their money. A Q&A with Ginger that I read, said they have as many as 30 rehabs going on at the same time, not to mention they do property managment, commercial, full service residental brokerage (so they list and sell houses that aren't theirs as well) investments (the flipping and condo conversions) and they also sell new homes/condos for developers. They have really diverisfied their company. That being said, I think his national roll out is going to be huge, and the free press that will be associated with it whenever a new franchise opens is going to enormous. They have brand power already nationwide. I am really excited to hear him speak about his national rollout. If anyone wants, I can post the email he sent out about partnerships. |

JCD, I would love to hear about the seminar after you attend. Rehabbers like myself do what he does on a small scale. While it’s not something I would get involved with, I look forward to seeing how he plans to capitalize on the success of his TV show. 8) |

Does he really do 30 rehabs at a time? I didn't think Charleston was that big. I looked at their website an there are only about 6 or 7 guys listed for the investor area. Looks like Trade Mark is just a company like Remax Realty. I'll guess we'll know more on the 27th. |

JCD, All's good, yes please come back and tell us what you found out. We all could learn a few things from someone who has such a large operation. Thanks |

Has anyone heard the details of their July 27th event? There was a lot of hype but there doesn’t seem to be any information about what took place. 8) |

Still looking for anyone that attending the meeting in Charlston. Can't find anything about the big nationwide roll out on the Trademark website or anywhere on the web. JCD, did you go and what did you find out? |

If you go to The Learning Channel website you can find people commenting about the meeting. Most feedback was negative. People said the meeting was disorganized and Richard’s speech was disorganized as well and there was no real information shared. The release of Richard’s book was also delayed. The overall impression seems to be that people spent a lot of money to go to the event and left feeling ripped off. 8) |

I guess I am glad I didn't go then. My wife and I were contemplating going, but decided against it because of out little one. There was an episode about this " roll out" and it seemed that even that was very ambiguous and disorganized. Love the show, but not sure what they have to offer from " franchise" point of view. |

My brother attended the Charleston event to see what it was all about, from what I understand it was pretty much just Richard talking about his company and discussing branching out nationwide but without any real plan in place. My brother received some emails from them asking a bunch of questions, but it never went anywhere. |
