Why YouTube Is Vital To Your Real Estate Video Marketing Campaign

Whether or not you are using real estate videos, you have probably heard of YouTube. Yes, it is a great place to watch funny videos, see the latest music video, or watch a tutorial video, but it also the greatest tool you can use in video marketing.
With video being a newer technology in real estate marketing, most people do not know where to begin once their video is produced. There are a lot of options; you can share it with your Facebook following, twitter, Google+, other social media venues, email lists, and put it on your website. All of these are excellent ways to utilize and share your video, but they are not the first thing you should do. Uploading your video to YouTube is the first step in any successful online video marketing campaign.

Why Is it Important?

YouTube is one of the most powerful sites on the internet and currently gets over 4 billion videos view a day, has millions of pages, and millions of back links. There are millions of sites all over the internet linking to YouTube and you can take advantage of this because the more powerful a website is, the easier it's pages will rank in Google. Not only can you ride the wave of YouTube’s ranking power, but since it is owned by Google, they tend to give YouTube videos a little more ranking power than other video sites.

You do have the option of hosting the video on your server, which can help you with branding, but getting the video ranked will take more work compared to hosting it with YouTube. Next time you perform a search query in Google, look at any video thumbnails that come up in the search results. Most, if not all, will be videos from YouTube.
Looking past the ranking capabilities, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. If your video is not on YouTube you are missing out on a lot FREE, potential video views. If you can rank your video in Google and YouTube for your specific keywords and phrases, you’re positioning yourself directly in front of a targeted audience on the two largest search engines in the world.

How Do I Get My Video Ranked?

There are a lot of things you can do and some are more effective than others. Here are some of the most effective methods:

Share Your Video – Like we mentioned before, sharing your video on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, other social media venues, sending it to your email lists, and putting it on your website, are all great ways to utilize video. When sharing your video always use the YouTube URL and YouTube embed code. It will increase your YouTube video views and possibly give your video more “likes” and “shares”. The more videos views, ratings, and likes you receive the more powerful your video becomes in YouTubes eyes.
Build Back Links – Building backlinks is one of the best ways to get your video ranked in Google. As you build backlinks use the keywords you want to get ranked for as the anchor text.
Depending on how competitive your keywords are you could see results within a week. 1-3 weeks is more common with less competitive keywords and a month or two is more common with highly competitive keywords. This of course, depends on the quality of your backlinks. If you have high quality back links, you can see results within days, even with competitive keywords.
Write Good Titles, Descriptions, and Tags – When you are writing out the title, description and tags for your YouTube video it is important to include your keywords. You need to write a good quality description; do not list a bunch of keywords thinking you will benefit, because you won’t. You should write a good quality description, but incorporate keywords when you can. The same goes for the title, make sure your main keyword is in the title of your video.
You can gain a lot leads, get more exposure and gain more clients using video. By utilizing the power of YouTube, the ranking process is fast and easy. If you have a video produced for any of your listings, homes for sale, or for your business I strongly recommend you begin ranking them today.
